DECEMBER 2007:
This has been a stellar year for One Shot Productions. This year saw the release of our ninth title, MIDNIGHT TRAIN, the launch of our pin-up art and webcomic pages, and the addition of our very popular daily blog. With my commitment to work on something for my comics every day, production is moving at a faster pace than ever before. I've made a lot of progress personally in my style of art, which is due largely to the fact that I spent so many nights drawing for "Bamboo Grove" or the Shadowlord project. I've met some great new artists who should fit nicely in the One Shot team. And with my tenth title already finished and at the printer, things are already lining up for the year ahead! -Jay W. Davis

ONE SHOT PRODUCTIONS had a great time at WIZARD WORLD CHICAGO on August 9-12. We met a lot of great new artists, and got our newest book MIDNIGHT TRAIN into the hands of new readers. Writer Jay W. Davis and artists Mike Jenkins were on hand to meet readers and sign copies of the new comic. We already got some great feedback while at the show and in emails!
The BLOG is still going strong! If you're a fan that wants some insight into how a comic is made, see what we're up to in our daily account of what it takes to create comics for One Shot Production.
July 2007:
Artist Curtis Rhodes (Vertex, Death:Accidental, Stoic) has signed on to illustrate a new story for One Shot Productions. The title of this project has not yet been released. We'll have more details later, but what we can say now is that this project is in response to fans asking for something in the sci-fi genre. This particular sci-fi story will feature some serious robot-on-robot action! For more on the progress of this book, check out our new One Shot blog.
Blog / Web Journal page added to the site. Check it out see what we've been up to since the last time you visited :)
And don't forget to make plans to see us at the Wizard World Convention next month, Aug 10-12.
June 2007:
We had a GREAT time at the Philadelphia Wizard World. This was our second year in a row to represent One Shot Productions at the Philly show, and it was a blast! I'd like to thank everyone who bought something from our table. I hope you'll remember to email some specific feedback to let us know what you thought of the books. Our biggest seller this year was our new zombie book, MIDNIGHT TRAIN. Second place honors go to VERTEX, and third place was a tie between our most controversial book (FALTER) and a comeback from our first ever book from 2001 (TORPEDO). We had a lot of requests for something in the sci-fi genre, and I definitely have 2 stories in mind (One that's sci-fi / space, and one that's some good old fashioned robot action like the comics I grew up on). If you missed the show and haven't picked up MIDNIGHT TRAIN yet, then email me at oneshotprez@yahoo.com and ask how to order one!
-Jay W. Davis, Writer / Editor

Check out the new art posted in our pin-up gallery!
February 2007:
One Shot Productions is assembling talent for a multi-chapter, multi-artist story. The book will showcase very different art styles, while telling one solid tale. If you're interested in being a part of this project, contact oneshotprez@yahoo.com with any questions. And don't worry, we may be doing another multi-artist project in the future. If you don't get in on this first one, we may still want to work with you on the next!
January 2007:
Our newest comic, MIDNIGHT TRAIN, has been finalized and set to release in March or April.

This is the first year of the brand new comic convention known as CON-SEQUENTIAL (Oct 14 &15). What made this comic con so different is the show's focus toward educating up & coming writers / artists as well as their very hands-on approach in their 'cartooniversity' classes. One Shot Productions was represented at the event, and we enjoyed meeting a lot of other Indie press creators and some writers and artists just getting started. We're looking forward to next year already. Thanks, Con-Sequential!
September 2006:
VERTEX is back from the print shop! This marks the third release from One Shot Productions in 2006. VERTEX is the story of Theron Phoenix, a great thief who gave up his wicked ways for the love of a woman. Now that his love has passed away, Theron is being blackmailed into his old way of life. What's worse is that his daughter, Allie, is being held by the heartless blackmailer!
Check out some preview pages here!
This title is not yet available for purchase through our online store at Comixpress, but check back! We'll add the link to purchase VERTEX online as soon as they add the title to our online store.
The art for our next title, MIDNIGHT TRAIN is all done thanks to Mike Jenkins. We'll be prepping this one for release in Spring of 2007, probably by March. This one is really shaping up to be a creepy tale, so stay posted for more details soon!
August 2006:
Chicago Wizard World '06 was an even bigger success for us than Philly! We nearly sold out of DEATH:ACCIDENTAL!
Our next book, VERTEX, features a very different lead character. Theron Phoenix was once a master thief until he gave up his dishonest trade for the love of a woman. When Theron lost his beloved Marian to an illness, he gained full custody of their daughter, Allison. Now the corporate fat-cat Harbinger has blackmailed Theron into being her personal thief, and she holds Allison in a beautiful prison.
Written by Jay W. Davis & Illustrated by Curtis Rhodes
Look for this one to become available through the website sometime in September.
Oh and one more note for August...
There has been talk lately of a previously released title from One Shot Productions becoming a mini-series. It's too early to say much about this project, but we expect to release the first issue of this 5 or 6 part series sometime around mid 2007. That's all we can give away right now, but there will be more information posted on this site as it become available!
June 2006:
